At Eye2Eye Vision, we are concerned about the overall health of our patient’s eyes. A dilated retinal exam is beneficial to screen and monitor for eye conditions and diseases. Due to the side effects of the dilating drops that can affect patient’s comfort & vision for several hours after use, our office also has the option of an Optos retinal photo. The Optos instrument non-invasively takes an ultra-widefield digital image of the retina revealing the necessary information for a comprehensive evaluation of systemic and ocular health. Further benefits include the ease of using on children to obtain a baseline for their retinal health, without needing dilating drops and the attention required for a proper evaluation once dilated.
To see how the Optos work, watch the video. After 1 minute you can see how it is used with a patient.

Optos is an optional test available for a small fee not covered by vision or medical insurance. Our doctors and staff are well educated in the options of checking your retinal health and can answer any questions the day of your appointment.
